Hockey Challenge

Our Hockey Challenge began in 1998 when hockey-playing Microsoft employees took an in-house hockey rivalry public, and made it a charity fundraising event at the same time. They teamed up with the Seattle Thunderbirds, and The RMHC® Hockey Challenge was born.

This beloved event is managed by RMHC® and the Seattle Thunderbirds and normally features:

  • a recreational tournament among local teams formed in the spirit of giving, just for this event.

  • a Seattle Thunderbirds game!

  • an All-Star Game featuring former NHL players and local celebrities!

The RMHC® Hockey Challenge has tremendous momentum and support from the local and national community. Since its inception, the event has raised more than $6.5 million to support families staying at the Seattle and Anchorage Houses.
